I encourage anyone wanting to experience non-fiction uniquely to pick up a copy of this book! ![]() Until April 1961, when her countries collide, and she fears she'll never return to her beloved island. This young girl enjoys not one, but two true loves, her countries, America and Cuba. This memoir did just that for me! I was completely shocked to find that the book is a series of poems that tell Margarita's life story. I want to put myself in the character's shoes, get caught up in the events forming the story, and journey to new places. I have never been interested in only being informed. Honestly, I was hesitant about beginning this book because it falls into the genre of non-fiction. ![]() I have finished reading one of her latest novels, Enchanted Air: Two Cultures, Two Wings. As I have mentioned in an earlier post, I have a new author crush, Margarita Engle. ![]()
